The family bible shows that Dan and Mina were married by Rev. A.J. Paul, the bride's father, but also indicates that he was assisted by Rev. Dr. John Buchanan, the groom's brother, Rev. Dr. Dickson, the minister of Central Presbyterian Church in Galt, and Rev. R. Pettigrew, minister at the Presbyterian church in Glen Morris.

The bride's name was actually Jemina. The family referred to her as Mina.

Josephine's family had, at one time, been members of the Children of Peace and connected with the Sharon Temple at Sharon, Ontario.

BurialHe was buried on 9 September 1933 at Section 2, Mountview Cemetery, Galt, Ontaio. 
NoteThe marriage record for Dan and Jemina shows her full name and squares with her name as given in the 1901 census. She went by Mina and was so known to the family. Their marriage record shows them both as being Presbyterian. They were married by her father Rev. A. J. Paul, by license. Her mother's name is given as Lavinia Andrew. The witnesses, both said to be of Galt, were Washington Buchanan, youngest brother of the groom, and Lovinia Reid.

Dan's second wife was Martha Josephine Lundy.

Dan and Mina's death dates are from the family bible.

N175 reel 20, The Weekly Reformer, Galt, July 2, 1896, has a brief story about Dr. Dan Buchanan having 'left on Monday' to sail to Scotland where he will continue his medical studies. Since he was back in Canada and married Jemina Paul the following year, his time in Scotland was likely of less than a year's duration.
