NoteA death registration for Amos has not been found. The Newmarket Era newspaper has been searched, but no death notice or obituary appears therein. What has been found is a transcription of what appeared on page 411 of the June 25, 1890, edition of the Christian Guardian. A transcription of this appears on Rev. Donald A. McKenzie's Volume 10, Obituaries from the Christian Guardian, 1884 to 1890
Donald A. McKenzie, Global Heritage Press, Milton (now of Ottawa), page 265.

This tells that Amos died on March 23, 1890. It gives his residence as Sharon and places his burial in Newmarket. The York County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has a transcription of this cemetery and Amos is buried with his parents, wife, and three daughters. The obituary tells that he died of 'inflammation of the bowels'. It is understood that this was later known as appendicitis.

The obituary does not tell us Amos' place of death. The 1891 census shows Martha and her daughters in the Township of East Gwillimbury. The 1901 census shows them in the Village of Sharon. Amos was said to be a farmer and the 1891 census shows the people living around the Lundy family to be mostly farmers. They almost certainly were residing in the township when Amos died.

The 1861 census shows Amos with his parents in East Gwillimbury. They are shown as being of the Children of Peace. The 1871 and 1881 censuses show Amos as being Methodist New Connexion; Martha is shown as Church of England. (The 1871 census shows Judah and Elizabeth, Amos' parents, as Methodist New Connexion as well.)
