| Note | A death registration for William Thompson has not been found. Note that when William married Mary Ann Edith Nichol Guthrie, he was described as a grocer at Georgetown. William appears with his family in Georgetown at the time of the 1881 census. By 1891, Mary still has Gilbert and Edith with her, but she is evidently a widow and running a boarding house in Georgetown. For the following, see Halinet, Halton's Historical and Newspaper Records. The February 8, 1883 issue of the Canadian Chamption of Milton has a death notice for William Thompson, grocer. He is said to have died on Saturday, February 3, 1883, at Georgetown. |
