Frances Thompson died February 25th, 1880, age 67 years. Farmer. Methodist. Born Yorkshire, England. Physician Dr. Patullo, Brampton. Informant Thomas Thompson.

Frances was probably born in late 1813.

Looking over the ages and approximate birth years of the children of Thomas and Frances as they appear in the 1851 census at Gore of Toronto in Peel County, it's tempting to wonder if Thomas had two families, the younger children being those of Frances. John was born in 1834 and William in 1836. The next child listed in Ann, born in 1844. William's marriage in 1872, however, names Frances as his mother. If this is correct, and it likely is, then there were probably other children who never survived.

Of interest on this census page is that Frances' mother, Elizabeth Maw, age 65, is in the household. She was likely visiting at the time the enumerator called.
