MarriageHe married Ann Harris on 20 January 1853 at St. Mary's Church, Tullamore, Peel County.
Our information for the marriage of James Maw and Ann Harris is taken from Ontario Marriage Notices, Thomas B. Wilson, Hunterdon House, Lambertville, New Jersey, 1982, page 235. This is in turn an extract from The Canadian Churchman dated 27 January, 1853.

This locates the marriage to St. Mary's Church in Tullamore and dates it to the 20th of January, 1853. The groom is James Maw of Albion and the bride as Anne Harris of Chinguacousy. These are townships in Peel County. Tullamore straddles the township line, but the village of Tullamore is mostly in Chinguacousy according to McGill University's The Canadian County Digital Atlas Project.

The clergyman was Rev. J. G. Armstrong.

DeathHe died on 26 September 1880.
BurialHe was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
NoteThat Robert Maw and Elizabeth Creich had a son James, we know of from Robert's will. Beyond that, the transcription of Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown, which appears on microfilm MS451 reel 98, shows a James Maw buried there who died September 26, 1880, aged 51 years. He is described as the husband of Ann Maw. A daughter Mariah is buried next to them. She died on April 9, 1860, age 1 month. James and Ann are buried with other Maw family members, so it is probably a family plot.

After the death of James' wife Ann in 1861, James at some point remarried. According to the 1871 census at Georgetown, her name was Margaret. Four children are present with them: Margaret, 18; Mark, 17; Harris, 14. Also present is Wilford, age 4. He will be Margaret's son.
