Parents Robert and Helen Maw. Witnesses George Edmonds, Sunnidale, Joseph Lemon, Alton. On 11 December 1872 at Hillsburg, Erin Township. Clergyman Donald Strachan. The bride and groom were Congregationalists. |

Note | William Lemon and wife Anne Maw are buried in Stamford Presbyterian Cemetery. Niagara Falls cemeteries has a photo of their stone. As well, the Niagara Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society performed a transcription of Stamford Presbyterian Cemetery - see their OGS publication nbr. 4662 - and this is dated 2005. We do not know what brought the Lemon family to Stamford Township at some point after their marriage. William is said to have been born in Caledon Township, but there is a history of a Lemon family, some of whom settled in Stamford and Willoughby townships, that were of Loyalist stock. We do not know if William was of this family. |
