A note here: Nearly all the Upper Canada district marriage registers are held at the Archives of Ontario and available on microfilm, either from the Archives, or on the website of Familysearch. The Wellington District's register is an exception. The volume was found in a collection and purchased privately and then donated to the Wellington County Museum at Fergus, Ontario, where it is held. I am infomed that the Museum has it for viewing on microfilm. A transcription was done as noted below.

Marriages by Rev'd John Simpson
New Connexion Methodist Minister

Rob't Harper to Sarah Edge both of Arthur. 31 Dec 1845, by banns. Rev. Simpson. Wit. Ja's Harper and Sam'l Edge.

Robert Harper was a member of the Church of Scotland and Sarah Edge of the Church of England. It may be a testament to the remoteness of their pioneer settlement, but they were married by a Rev'd John Simpson of the New Connexion Methodist Church.

This is the earliest marriage record we have for a Harper family member, only three years after their reported arrival in Canada.

DeathShe died on 4 April 1904 at age 79.
BurialShe was buried at Riverston Anglican Cemetery, Arthur Twp..
NoteBirth information for Sarah is taken from a transcription of the inscription on her gravestone.
