Note | There appear to be four daughters of Robert Harper and Sarah Edge buried in Riverston Cemetery, Arthur Township, whose names are on the same stone. An alternate name for this cemetery is Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery. A transcription is provided by the Guelph branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, the original of which was done in 1984. Later updates include the one to hand which is marked second edition, 2007. According to the transcription, one line appears twice: Mary Ann / 1846-1929 / Fanny S. M. / 1866-1946 / Daughters of Robert & Sarah Harper. Also on the stone appears: In Memory of / H. S. C. Harper / died Dec. 14, 1899 / aged 36 yrs 10 mos & 3 dys. / Verse. Mrs. Ellen Dale / who died / Nov. 8th, 1899 / aged / 46 yrs. 10 mos. 18 dys. Unquote H. S. C. Harper will be Harriet Susan Caroline Harper. Death reg. 037956-29 Mount Forest, Wellington County Mary Ann Harper died Dec. 22, 1929, at Fergis Street. Single. Age 83 yrs., 1 mo., 2 dys. Seamstress. Born Arthur Township Nov. 20, 1846. Residence at place of death 40 years. Parents Robert Harper and Sarah Edge, both born Ireland. Burial Riverston Cemetery Dec. 24, 1929. Informant Miss Fanny Harper, Mount Forest, sister. |
