Informant Sylvester 'Clemens' 'Red' Clements, as he was known, signed up with the Canadian Army and served in France from January of 1917 until the end of the war. He worked for a time as a compositor with the Galt Reporter, but then, in the mid 1920s, moved to Welland where he spent much of the rest of his life working for the Welland Tribune. |
