Note | Our information for Mercy is sketchy. She does however appear on page 8 of Genealogies of the Raymond Family of New England, 1630-1886, compiled by Samuel Raymond, 1886.
The writing is a bit obscure, but it appears that Mercy was the daughter of Samuel Raymond and his second wife Mary Kitto. Samuel and Mary had several children, but the vignette states that Mary (Kitto) Raymond with children Mary, Mercy, and Silas, and their families, left Norwalk, Connecticut at the time of the Revolution, 1783, and settled in Kingston, New Brunswick. (New Brunswick wasn't actually separated from Nova Scotia until 1784, so, technically, they settled in Nova Scotia.) Mary Kitto Raymond is said to have died in 1793 at the age of 96. |
