Our information for Mary as a daughter of Gilbert Chrysler Field and Rebecca Eleanor Vrooman is taken initially from a transcription of Copetown Cemetery as done by the Hamilton Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. She is buried with her husband, John Elliot Sr. in their plot in Copetown Cemetery and the inscription on her gravestone is transcribed as Mary Elliot, daughter of Cap. G. G. Field. Her dates of birth and death are given, and her date of death agrees with that of her 1918 death registration. The initials of Gilbert Field we must believe to be incorrectly transcribed for Interment.net's transcription of the cemetery, done in later years by Gloria Pare, has his initials transcribed as G. C. Field. |
