William's middle name, Serian, at first glance may seem odd and it's possible it wasn't correct, or perhaps based on a faulty memory. Charles' parents, Robert and Elizabeth, had a son named Sering who is buried in St. Andrew's Anglican Cemetery in Grimsby. The Niagara Branch of the OGS did a transcription of this cemetery in 1985 and the stone for Sering is shown as follows: IMO/Sering/son of/Robert & Elizabeth/Nixon/who died/May 3, 1831/aged 4 years/9 mo. & 7 d's. |
