Note | See Vol. 1 Death Notices From The Christian Guardian, 1836 to 1850, Donald A. McKenzie, 2008, Global Heritage Press, page 76. This provides us with Emma's date of death, though not location. It tells us that she was born in Frederickton, New Brunswick. The notice is extracted from the Christian Guardian issue of September 20, 1843. For Emma's place of burial, we refer to The Canadian Corson Family, A short-form genealogy, by Damaris Chase, revised in Sep 83. See page 4 under the brief paragraph for Robert Corson, the son of Rev. Robert Corson and Emma Freeland. It states that he died in Newburg(h), which is in Lennox & Addington, and that he is buried there with his mother in Switzerville Cemetery. Present photo essays of the cemetery, one stating that all visible stones have been photographed, does not show a stone for either Emma or her son Robert, so we must believe that the stone or stones have not survived. |
