The county clerk probably had a problem with the clergyman's handwriting so far as the bride's given name is concerned. Her name was Elzirah and is shown as such on the family's gravestone.

NoteHe Death reg. 003109-26 Gilbert Field, age 85, 1107 College St., Toronto, born Ancaster, April 7, 1841 (a transcription for Gilbert's gravestone gives his birth year as 1840). He is said to be a retired farmer, and to have lived at his current address three years and in Ontario for life. His parents are shown as James Field and Maud Middough, both born Niagara. The informant was his son, H. Field, of 1107 College St. The date of death was April 22, 1926, and the date of burial was April 24. Son H. Field of the same address was undertaker.
