| Note | Cassie's proper name is likely Catharine A. Lawrason, for so she appears in the 1870 census in Clinton County, Michigan. In every later census where she is found her name is given as Cassie and so is used here. It is just possible that she was the daughter of Abigail (maiden name unknown), the wife of Lawrence who followed Ann McGillis. Cassie, however, is almost certainly the daughter of Ann McGillis. Her marriage registration in 1886 has her age as 21. This would place her birth in 1865, the year that Ann McGillis died. The 1870 census in Clinton, Michigan, shows her age as 5. This again would place her year of birth as 1865. Census information in later years would suggest that she was born in 1868 and her death registration shows her year of birth as 1868. Given the earlier records, however, she is almost certainly the daughter of Ann McGillis. Cassie and Frank were in Kansas City, Missouri, at the time of the 1910 census and in Wright, Missouri, at the time of the 1920 census. The 1910 census indicates that she had given birth to one child, but that no child of hers was living at the time of the census. Cassie appears to have been enumerated twice in the 1920 census. As mentioned, she is with husband Frank in Wright, Missouri, and she also appears in Springfield, Missouri, where she is shown as aunt to Lawrence J. (or I.) Lawrason, born Canada. This will be Richard's son, Richard being Cassie's half brother. We may also mention that Mary Lavinia Lawrason Thomson remembered Cassie in her will.
