| Note | Certain records for Ann McGillis are elusive. She is probably the Ann McGiles, age 28, Catholic, who appears in Ancaster with an Anderson family in the 1861 Canada West census. We would know little else about her, but Find-a-Grave shows her burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Saint Johns, Clinton County, Michigan, and dates her death to October 2, 1865. The photograph shows a very worn gravestone, but, reasonably, this is she. Probably, she is the mother of Cassie. See notes under Cassie. |
