Lucinda J. Wood, 48 Wellington St., died August 1, 1927, age 87. years. Born Beverly May 8th, year not given. Parents Thomas Lawrason and Charity Deneen. Both born Beverly. Informant illeg Champion, grandson. Buried August 3 in mausoleum.

That Lucinda's parents were born in Beverly won't be correct. Best information is that Thomas Lawrason was in Clinton Township in the Niagara District and that Charity Deneen was born in New Jersey.

Examination of Abstract Indexes for land transactions for Beverly Township show that Peter was involved in considerable buying and selling of land. At some point they moved to Brantford and some records show that Peter was a jeweller. Lucinda was very generous with the Childrens' Aid Society of Brantford and left an estate of substantial size. She left bequests to numerous family members.

Before the couple left Beverly for Brantford, there was a 'Grand Festival' given by them on the 24th of September, 1867, at their residence, 'Mansion Hill'. A photograph of Beverly seniors was taken that day and shows them assembled on and around the front porch of their home, Lucinda Lawrason Wood being front and center. The individuals in the photo are numbered and an index exists that identifies everyone. Sitting on the porch, side by side, are Charity Deneen Lawrason, Lucinda's mother, and Mary Deneen Able, Charity's sister. Also present are Adam Misener and his wife Helen Coleman Misener. This photo is held by the Hamilton Ontario Public Library and is in the public domain.

Lucinda and Peter adopted at least one of the children of Lucinda's sister Caroline after her death.
