| Note | Familysearch.org provides us with a transcription of a death registration for Walter. It shows his date of death as 11 September, 1931, in Detroit. It gives his age as 78. His parents are shown as James Shattock and Hannah Hartnell. Such information as has been found (a search of FreeBMD included) shows that Walter was married to Fanny Amelia Lusty in 1880 in or near Bridgewater, Somerset, England. The 1900 census at Detroit shows Fanny as having borne six children, all of whom are living, and all six are present with the family in the census. The first two, James and Ella, were born in England. The family must then have had an interlude in Canada, for that is where their third child, Dulcie, is shown as being born in 1884 (no birth registration for Dulcie has been found). Three more children were then born to them in Michigan. William Shattock is buried with his wife Fannie in Detroit. |
