NoteA registration of birth for Louis has not been found, but census and marriage information confirms him as the son of Jasper and Ellen.

A draft card for Louis shows his date and place of birth as 23 March, 1890, Detroit. The card shows him as a widower. Also, the writing, while faint, indicates that he has a child. This card is undated. The 1930 census makes it evident that his child was Norman, born approximately 1915.

In the 1920 census at Detroit, Louis is shown as a lodger in a rooming house. He a salesman in real estate. Son Norman has not been found in this census.

In the 1930 census, Louis and his second wife Florence are in Los Angeles. With them is son Norman age 15. He will be the son of Mary Burns.

Find-a-Grave records Louis as being buried in Verdugo Hills Cemetery, Tujunga, Los Angeles County, California. His stone reads:
Louis James Vrooman, California, March 23, 1890 - November 14, 1967. PVT BTRY D 329 FA 85 DIV. World War I.
