Alfred Richard Cook, male, baptism date and place 06 May 1866, St. Matthew, Gosport, Hampshire, England. Parents Alfred Charles Cook and Elizabeth Emily. A second transcription reads essentially the same, but locates the baptism at Holy Trinity instead of St. Matthew. It isn't presently clear, but this may be the same place.

An obituary for Alfred appears on the front page of the September 21, 1931, edition of the Niagara Falls Gazette. His death is shown as occuring on the evening of Sunday, September 20, 1931, at his home at 532 Fourth Street in Niagara Falls, New York. The funeral will be held, it is said, on Wednesday the 23rd from the family home and burial to be in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario. He is said to have lived in Niagara Falls, New York, for 33 years. Survivors are shown as his wife Mrs. Carmenta Cook, and daughters Mrs. Harry L. Weir of Yonkers, and Miss Alexandra Cook Niagara Falls. He is also survived by a grandson Blair Weir.

Alfred and Carmenta are buried in Fairview Cemetery, section L, plot 0039. With them is Elizabeth Williams, 1844-1914. Elizabeth Williams is how her name appears on her gravestone, but another record places her in the same plot, burial date 1914-11-21. There, her name is given as Elizabeth Emily Williams. Since Alfred's mother, Elizabeth Emily Sheppard, was born in approximately 1844, we must believe that this is Alfred's mother.
