| Note | A transcription exists for Cook's United Church Cemetery in Caradoc Township, Middlesex County which reads as follows: Vrooman/Gertrude Vrooman, dau. of Chas. & Esther Vrooman, died Jan. 26, 1878 ae 17 yrs. Gertrude's death registration shows her name as Eliza Gertrude Vrooman. Further, the date shown for her death agrees with that of her stone, except for the year, which the death registration shows as 1877. Since the year shown, 1877, agrees in context with deaths shown on the same and following pages, it would appear that Gertrude's stone was not erected until some time after she died. It should be noted that Gertrude's age at time of death is shown as 18. Gertrude's year of birth is approximated, but is based on her death registration. Gertrude died of diptheria. On the same death registration page for Caradoc Township appears the death on January 1st, 1877, for Martha Ann Vrooman, age 3, also of diptheria. For the moment, a place of burial for Martha Ann has not been found. No birth registration has been found. We do not know her parentage, but if age 3 is correct, then Esther Hoyt Vrooman would have been age 50 at the time and is unlikely to be her mother. The informant in both deaths was Dr. Sinclair and the registrations were filed on different dates.
