Note | A birth registration for Ida has not been found. Her date of birth, 25 October, 1879, is as shown on the 1901 census, enumerated at Toronto, where she was living with her parents. At the very least, it will be approximately correct. The 1899 Toronto City Directory, shows Ida with her parents at 184 Harbord Street. She is a clerk working at T. Eaton Co. The 1900 directory shows Ida, again with her parents at the same address and, again, working with T. Eaton Co. The 1902 Toronto City Directory, shows Ida, her sister Margaret, and their father Robert, at 184 Harbord Street. Death reg. 004601-03 Toronto, York Co. Ida Maud Habkirk died 17 December, 1903, age 24. Residence 1318 Queen West. Single. Born Canada. Meth. (Methodist). Cause of death mitral regurgitation. Physician Dr. Harris. Informant W. Harris. Familysearch carries images of the burial records for Prospect Cemetery. This tells that Robert Habkirk, who we must believe to be Ida's father, purchased the burial plot - Section 12, Lot 661 S-1/2. Herein, a few years later, her parents were buried with her. Her residence at time of death, 1318 Queen West, must have been shared with her sister Margaret, for when Margaret died a year later, her residence is shown to be the same. |
