     Mabel Octella Hallberg was born on 23 October 1892 in Kettle Falls, Stevens County, Washington.2,3,4,5 She was the daughter of Samuel August Hallberg and Emma Charlotte Carlson.3,2 She lived in Ladysmith, British Columbia, in 1920.3 She married Harold Broder, son of John Broder and Alice Mary Graves, on 27 September 1920 in Vancouver, British Columbia.3 The 12 May 1921 edition of the North Pacific Union Gleaner reported that Mabel Octella Hallberg had returned to the Forest Home School in Tiger, Pend Oreille County, Washington, which she had previously attended, as a teacher.6 She and Harold Broder adopted Christopher Nicolas McGlashan and Eldine McGlashan about 1930 in Alaska.7 She was a teacher at the Seattle Junior Academy during the 1930s.8 She was left a widow when Harold Broder died on 16 March 1971.9,5,4 She lived in Clackamas, Clackamas County, Oregon, in 1988.5 She died on 14 January 1989 in San Bernardino, San Bernardino County, California, at age 96.4,5 She was buried in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, OregonG.10
