Edward Hiram Graves
ID#  441, (1860-1936)
- Relationships
- Great-grandson of Samson Striker
Great-granduncle of Faye Louise Doyle
Edward Hiram Graves was born on 8 April 1860 in Scott, Crawford County, Wisconsin.1 He was the son of Roswell Graves and Eugenia C Clapp. He died on 10 October 1936 in Sacramento, Sacramento County, California, at age 76.1
Edward H. Graves left home at about the time of his father's death, to seek his fortune, promising his mother to return. He was never heard from again. A death certificate found in the California vital records matches information known about him, and census entries from 1900 and 1920 also match. It is very likely that he spent most of his life as a farm laborer in San Joaquin County, Sacramento County, and nearby, and there is no evidence from the censuses or the death certificate that he ever married. He died in a Sacramento County home for the indigent aged during the Great Depression.1
