     Elias Clapp was born about 1700.1 He was the son of Captain John Clapp and Elizabeth Channell.1 He married Ruth Allen on 20 July 1727 in St George's Church, Hempstead, Nassau County, New York.1 He lived in North Castle, Westchester County, New York, in 1742.1 He was left a widower when Ruth Allen died before 22 December 1746.2 He left a will on 15 December 1762.1 He died about 1783 in North Castle, New York.1 His estate was probated on 30 June 1783.1
