Pearl Agnes Dodele

     Pearl Agnes Dodele was born on 10 February 1908 in Kings Valley, Benton County, Oregon.1 She married Guy Summers, son of Perry Summers and Lillian Augusta Graves. She and Guy Summers had no children. She was left a widow when Guy Summers died on 13 May 1951.1

After Guy's death in 1951, Pearl worked for a Community Concert Association, making arrangements with small towns on the West Coast to bring talented, young new musicians and performers to give recitals in areas which would otherwise not have access to cultural activities of this nature. The great opera star, Leontyne Price, and the pianist Van Cliburn are said to have been performers on the Community Concert tours before they became famous. (Source: Barbara Hill.)

She died on 15 March 1988 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, at age 80.1 She was buried on 18 March 1988 in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.
