George Jacob Slough

     George Jacob Slough was born about 1732 in Baden, Germany. He was the son of John Jacob Slough. He married Anna Catherine Gee, daughter of George Gee. He immigrated in 1789 to Pelham Twp, Welland County, Ontario.¹ He left a will on 22 November 1811 in Pelham Twp, Ontario.² He died between 22 November 1811 and 20 May 1812 in Pelham Twp, Ontario.³ He was buried in Hansler Cemetery, Pelham Twp, Welland County, Ontario.

Therefore, he must have been under 15 yrs of age when he came. There are 2 by that surname and variant who came in 1732 who might be his father. The next arrival of that surname is in 1747. If he came then and was under 15 he would have had to have been born around 1732. Also, Geo's land petition in 1795 states he is 63 years old, making him born ca 1732."
