Reginald Thomas Johns was born in 1904 in Galt, Waterloo County, Ontario.1 He was the son of Thomas Richard Johns and Emma May Coleman.1 He died on 12 June 1961 in Westminster Hospital, London, Middlesex County, Ontario.1 He was buried on 15 June 1961 in Mountview Cemetery, Cambridge, Waterloo County, Ontario.1
One of Reg's death notices said that he went by the nickname of Snookie. He joined the Canadian Army at an early date after the outbreak ofWorld War II. He was one of the soldiers evacuated from the beaches at Dunkirk. He was afterwards heard to say that he'd have traded his army boots for running shoes at Dunkirk anytime. He rose to the rank of Sergeant. He is said to have worked for newspapers in Galt, Sarnia and Detroit in his younger days.
