| Note | Death reg. 002721-29 Toronto, York Co. William Easton died March 1, 1929, age 77, at Inglewood Hospital, Toronto. Single. Born Ontario. Parents Alexander and Agnes Easton, born Ontario(?). Physician A. W. McClennan, Toronto. Informant Charles Chase, 152 Galley Ave., nephew. Burial Creiff, Ontario. The available transcription of Knox Cemetery at Creiff has some appended notes, evidently taken from the cemetery's records. This tells that William was buried on April 28th, 1929. Such a delayed burial isn't unheard of. Such records are certainly found. William's sister, Ellen, however, died only a month earlier and records show that she was buried only six days after her death. It is possible that winter conditions were an issue at the time of William's death, though this seems unlikely. Whatever the circumstances, this tree shows William's date of burial per the cemetery's records. As an added note, the archives for the Toronto newspapers, the Star and the Globe, have been searched, but no funeral notice has been found. |
