NoteA death registration for Robert Lundie Wilson has not been found. We have two sources, however, that both mark his passing as well as showing his family relationships. The first is that of Norma Huber's work, Funeral Notice Cards of Waterloo County from 1851 to 1980, as published by the Waterloo County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society in 2001. This excellent work lists over 1800 cards. Robert's card is number 128. This reads:

Died last night, Monday 11th October, at six P.M. at the residence of his son, James Wilson, Lot 25, 10th Concession, North Dumfries, Robert Lundie Wilson, aged 73 years, 7 months. Funeral Wednesday, October 13th, at 2 P.M. from the residence of his son, Lot 25, 10th Con., North Dumfries, to the Cedar Creek Burying Ground, North Dumfries.

Census information tells us that Robert was born in Scotland.

The Waterloo branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society has a transcription of Cedar Creek Cemetery, North Dumfries Township, as originally done by Norma Huber. This includes a family gravestone covering a number of Wilson family names, including Robert and his wife Mary Crow, and his son James as well as James's wife, Mary Jane Mills.

Andrew Taylor, in his Our Todays and Yesterdays, originally written in 1952, makes mention on page 38 of Robert L. Wilson's arrival in Dumfries Township in 1834. Page 293 also makes mention of North Dumfries Lot 25, Concession 10, as being in the successive ownership of Robert Lundie Wilson, James Wilson, Robert Wilson, and Irving Wilson.

Near the end of Mr. Taylor's book, he, the author, includes an excellent and readable copy of Tremaine's 1861 map of North Dumfries. This shows Lot 25 of the 10th Concession to be in the possession of James Wilson.

The Hon. James Young, in his 1879 work Reminisences of the Early History of Galt and the Settlement of Dumfries, mentions Robert L. Wilson on page 126 as joining the Galt Circulation Library in 1841; on page 146 as being Deputy Reeve of the township in 1856; and page 235 shows Robert Lundy Wilson as a captain of the 4th Company of the 1st Battalion of the Waterloo Militia.
