The handwriting as to the year of birth, 1882, on all registrations for this locale could easily be interpreted as 1883. Since the clerical handwriting on these pages is one and the same, comparisons have been made where in the number 3 is written separately and it seems the year intended for the births is 1882. This interpretation may change. Death reg. 020524-82 York Twp., York Co. Lena Lawrence died May 19/82. Age 2 months. Presbyterian. Born Riverside, York Tp. Cause of death congestion of the lungs 2 days. Physician J. A. Carroll. Informant certificate of Dr. Carroll. Forms were available, sometimes at local post offices, wherein these advices of birth and death could be mailed in and this is probably what is meant by the word 'certificate'.
