Parents Philemon Wismer, farmer, and Ann Millar. Name of person delivering child not given. Informant Philemon Wismer, Feversham. Fretz dates Ethelda's birth to 31st May, 1878. Unquestionably, her date is clearly recorded in a series of 1877 births for Osprey Township in Grey County. Fretz was probably quoting her year of birth as he received the family's information. Being a year off one way or the other is a fairly common error, say, when birth information was recorded in a census such as the 1901 census. Feversham was probably Philemon's postal address. |
