Burial Feby. 3, 1923, in Toronto (name of cemetery not given.) The cause of David's death is shown, and while not entirely legible has something to do with burns. Death notices in the Toronto Globe & Mail for the edition of February 2, 1923, page 12, simply says that he died suddenly on Wednesday, 31st January, 1923, at his residence, 434 Parliament Street. His wife is named as Sophia McBride. The funeral is to be Saturday, February 3rd. Burial in St. James Cemetery. Page 9 of the same edition of the Globe has a fuller story. This includes his photograph and tells that his wife had stepped out to a store when David lit his pipe. His clothes caught fire, someone in the house ran for help, but it was too late for David to survive. |
