Marriage | She married Alvin C. Snell on 19 June 1902 at Methodist Church, Wingham, Ontario. The Brantford Expositor repeats a piece from the Wingham Advantage describing the wedding of Gertrude Lillian Fellman and Alvin C. Snell. The bride was given away by her grandfather, D. Buckborough of Waterloo. Arthur Fellman, brother of the bride, played the organ and Percy Morley was usher. Percy appears to be a first cousin of the bride by way of her aunt Pamelia. A child, one of the flower girls, is referred to as Miss Delight Hobbs, and will be a daughter of Delight's to Richard Hobbs. Note | The names of Gertrude's children through to Grant, born in 1907, are taken from the 1911 census taken in Essex South, District 68, Essex Town, Sub District 47, page 7. The months and years of their births are taken from this as well. Birth reg. 034271-80 Berlin, Waterloo Co. 10 September 1880, GertrudeLillian, daughter of Jacob B. Fellman, merchant, and Elizabeth Delight Buckberrough. At some point after the 1911 census, Gertrude and Alvin moved to Toronto. At the time Gertrude's mother died, they were living at 71 Regal Road. At the time of Alvin's death in 1951, they were living at 717 Eglinton Avenue. |
