| Note | Section D of Harris Street Cemetery, as photographed and presented by 'Dave', but now under the auspices of Oxford County Libraries (see http://www.oxfordcountycemeteries.ca/), shows the gravestone of Thomas M. Walker, 1825-1907, and Elizabeth Kenzie (so spelled), his wife, 1840-1925. This is a pink granite gravestone which has photographed well and under the parents' names includes the following inscription: Allie. 1882-1883. 'Allie' must surely have been a nickname, for we have the following birth and death registrations. It isn't reasonable that these could be for anyone else than 'Allie'. Birth reg. 025676-82 West Oxford Township, Oxford Co. Thomas Murton Walker born 15 Feby, 1882. Parents Thomas Melville Walker, farmer, and Elizabeth Kenzie (or Kinzie - handwriting unclear). Physician's name not given. Informant Thos. M. Walker, West Oxford. Death reg. 012689-83 West Oxford Twp., Oxford Co. Thomas Murton Walker died 2 August 1883, age 1 year and 5 months. Son of Thomas M. Walker, born West Oxford. Cause of death hydrocephalous. Physician Dr. J. A. Aikman. Informant Thos. M. Walker, West Oxford (Thomas apparently attended the clerk's office and signed the form in person.) |
