| Note | Birth reg. 034612-87 Town of Waterloo, Waterloo Co. Martha Caroline Tilt born 13th May, 1887. Parents Thomas Tilt, license inspector, and Martha Loughead. Physician Dr. Webb. Informant Thomas Tilt, Waterloo. It does appear that Maud's correct name was Martha Caroline. Census information, however, makes it clear that she was known to the family as Maud. The 1901 census in Goderich records her name as Maud C. Tilt and shows her date of birth to be 11 May, 1887. We'll call this close enough. The 1901 census shows Maud's age to be 13 and shows her to be a student. |
