| Note | According to a birth registration for daughter Maud, Louis' first wife was Mary Hager. Louis and Mary are together in Walpole Township in the 1881 census. Louis' second wife was Laura Hill. They were married in 1884 in North Cayuga Township, Haldimand County. Laura Hill Wilcox died in Onondaga Township, Brant County, in 1904. Laura Buckberrough was Louis' third wife. Mary Hager and Laura Hill are buried together in Hartford Baptist Cemetery in Townsend Township. Their inscriptions read: Willcox Mary Beloved wife of Louis N. Willcox And Dau of Charles & Eliza Hager Who Departed this Life Aug. 28, 1881 Aged 28 yrs. 6 mos. 20 dys Laura A. Beloved Wife of L.N. Wilcox Died Mar. 5, 1904 In her 40th year Louis is buried in the same cemetery, but with his third wife Laura Buckborough. |
