| Note | According to the book The Cody Family in America, Lydia S. Cody, 1954, Philip Cody Merigold as born April 13, 1829. Page 33 has his very brief biography. It tells that he was born in Ontario and that he went to the U.S. in 1857. He is said to have served in the Civil War and died unmarried in 1865.
The 1860 U.S. census shows him in Bonhomme Township, St. Louisa County, post office Fenton. He appears to be in the household of Royal and Julia Baker. He is shown as age 31, born Canada, and as an Apt. farmer. (Just what an Apt. farmer is is unknown.) |
