NoteFor the following information, refer to The Marriage Registers Upper Canada/Canada West, Vol. 9, Pt1, Wellington District, 1840-1852. This has been transcribed by Dan Walker & Fawne Stratford-Devai, and is available from Global Heritage Press. See page 112. This shows some baptisms done by Rev. Darius Bettes, the Methodist New Connexion Minister. Unusually, dates of birth for the children are shown, but not the date of baptism. This list does show the following:

Jane, born 26, Aug, 1851, daughter of George and Mary Easterbrook.

This does not tell us the residence of the family, but the evidence to be had so far indicates that they were in Nassagaweya.

Death reg. 015539-85 Tay Twp., Simcoe Co.
Jane Kean died 31 August, 1885. Age 34. Born Halton Co., Presbyterian. Cause of death typhoid fever 10 days. Physician Dr. McLean. Informant Josiah Kean.

Jane is buried in Ebenezer Church Cemetery next to the plot of her parents. The inscription on her gravestone reads:

Jane Easterbrook, wife of Josiah Kean, died 31 Aug. 1885, aged 38 years 5 days.

There is a second inscription for her which appears on her family's gravestone. This is briefer, but does state her age as 34 years.
