Death reg. 008321-14 South Dumfries Twp., Brant Co.
Horace Sharp died 30th Oct, 1914, at Glen Morris. Gentleman (retired), widower, born Glen Morris. Age 68 yrs., 9 mos., 12 dys. Parents Jas. H. Sharp and Mary Crozier. Physician J. S. Wardlaw. Informant Thos. J. Sharp, Glen Morris.

Horace's date of birth is calculated from his age as given in the death registration. Once in a while it is found that these are quite accurate, but they are more usually approximate.

Beatrice Robson of Glen Morris wrote Glen Morris Funeral Cards from 1896 to 1955. This is publication nbr. 292 and was published by the Brant County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. In this, Ms. Robson shows his place of burial as Paris Cemetery and this agrees with the Brant OGS transcription of Paris Cemetery. Horace's full name may be Horace Percival Sharp, per the funeral card, but there is a problem with this. Confirmation is being sought. It appears that the funeral was from his sister's at Glen Morris. Beside this last information is the name Chas. Stewart, Glen Morris, and this may be correct and he may be Horace's brother-in-law, but since the previous funeral card shown is that of Charles Stewart (dated October 1, 1914), this remains to be checked. One other aspect of the funeral card record is that it places Horace's burial date to October 30. Since the death registration and the gravestone date Horace's death as on October 30, a funeral date of October 30 with a funeral card involved is unlikely.

Some baptism, marriage, and communion roll records for Glen Morris church are available and it's evident that at one time or another Sharps and Croziers attended the church, but no sure information has been found relating to Horace and Christie.

Glen Morris as Horace's place of death may be the actual village or at least close and rather to the north. James Sime Wardlaw was a Galt doctor and he probably didn't serve patients who lived much south of Glen Morris.
