Anna Hespeler
ID # 6881, (1843-1915)
Father | Jacob Hespeler (1811-1881) |
Mother | Elise (Lissie) Diehl (1817-1881) |
Birth | Anna Hespeler was born on 3 December 1843 at Canada. |
Marriage | She married Herbert Marshall Farr on 1 June 1864 at Hespeler, Waterloo Co., Canada West. The marriage of Herbert Marshall Farr and Anna Hespeler does not appear to have been returned to the county clerk for entry into the county marriage register by the clergyman, Rev. E. R. Stimson. Instead, we find a transcription of the Dumfries Reformer. This work was done by Rosemary Ambrose and at least one time available via the Waterloo Wellington branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. This refers to a marriage notice that appeared in the June 8th, 1864, edition of the paper. It tells that Herbert Marshall Farr of Hamilton, the only son of the late Marshall H. Farr, was married at Hespeler on June 1st, 1864, to Anna Hespeler, the 2nd daughter of Jacob Hespeler. The clergyman was Rev. E. R. Stimson. Glanville Heritage presents a collection of birth, marriage and death notices from the Hamilton Spectator. This also shows that which is presented above in the Dumfries Reformer. The marriage notice, which appears in the Spectator's edition of June 3, 1864, only adds that the marriage was held at the 'mansion of the bride's father in the village of Hespeler'. |
