| Note | Pages 1 and 2 of the Daily Colonist, Victoria, B.C., December 17, 1938, edition carry an extensive obituary for Joseph Kenney Unsworth. It tells of the charges wherein he served (he had been a Congregationalist minister) and his support for church union, which resulted in the United Church of Canada. It also tells that for ten years he had written the church page for the Colonist. The obituary includes a photograph. A death notice appeared on page 20 of the same paper in the Dec 18, 1938, edition. As with the obituary, names of surviving siblings are given. A funeral service was to be held on December 19th at First United Church in Victoria, followed by cremation at the Royal Oak Crematorium.
