NoteThe list of children shown for Julius and Sarah is taken from the 1851 and 1861 censuses. Their years of birth are approximate and based on their ages in the respective census years.

Julius and his family are residing in Westminster Township, Middlesex County, in the 1851 and 1861 censuses. The 1861 census describes Julius' wife as Mrs. J. Raymond. (See notes for Sarah.) Obviously, as Sarah is dead by 1861, this is Julius' second wife. One clue that there has been a change is that this lady is shown as 34. Much younger than Sarah.

Information about this lady appears on a website entitled Raymond Family Genealogy and is dedicated to Julius' family.

This interesting story was assembled after much work on the part of the researcher and it is his/her story to tell and won't be repeated here. What we may say is that by the time of the 1870 census in the United States, the family of Julius is in Riley Township, St. Clair County, Michigan. (The story told in the above website expands greatly on this.) There is some evidence that they may have been in this location from the mid 1860s onward, probably from around the end of the Civil War.

Julius consistently appears as a blacksmith in census information thus far found.
