BurialHe was buried on 27 February 1970 at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario. 
NoteJohn Chassels served in the Canadian Army during the First World War. At the time of his attestation he is shown as a medical student. This was in February of 1915. Part of John's service was with the Royal Army Medical Corps (British) at the Darnanelles in Mesopotamia where he contracted 'epidemic jaundice'. Eventually, back in Canada, he had his gall bladder and appendix removed which went some distance to the restoral of his health. He held the rank of captain.

It identifies him as the husband of the late Beatrice Buchanan and provides his dates of death and burial as shown. His date of birth is to be found on a photograph of his gravestone as provided by Find-a-Grave.
