The above registration isn't well microfilmed due to the registration being at the edge of the page and the year of birth being somewhat obscured, but, extrapolating, reasonably he was born in 1883. The image of the 1901 census as it appears on Ancestry is also somewhat faded and not entirely readable. A much better image for this census may be found on automatedgenealogy.com and this seems to agree that his birth year (still not entirely legible) was 1883. The 1891 census shows his name as Bradley; the 1901 census shows his name as F. Bradley. A later record for Frank Bradley Buchanan has been found. In a 1919 document Frank filed a Declaration of Intention to become a citizen of the United States. He describes himself as Frank Bradley Buchanan, age 35, born in Ingersoll. He states that he arrives in Detroit by train in 1910. In 1919 he is living in Spring, Illinois, and he is in the insurance business. He is married and gives his wife's name as Isabel who was born in Chicago. He also provides his date of birth as June 4, 1883. |
