Physician and informant Egerton Griffin, M. D., Brantford. (Filed with clerk at Brantford on Sept. 24, 1873.) At first glance, the above is not informative. The Brantford Weekly Expositor, however, on page 3 of its Sept 26, 1873 edition, shows a death for John Hutchison Clark Roy. This page has not been sought, but is indexed by the Brantford Library. Add to this, the Roy family plot in Greenwood Cemetery shows a John H. Roy death at age of 2 yrs, 5 mos., on Sept. 22, 1873. He is described as the grandson of David Roy, age 77, who died in 1877. Since the Peter Roy family is buried with them and since Matilda Ann Fawcett had a half brother by the name of Clark Hutchison Fawcett who died in infancy as well as a brother John whose history has yet to be traced, it is reasonable to believe that John Hutchison Clark Roy is the son of Peter and Matilda. |
