| Note | A delayed registration of birth for Matthew Carr Roy was filed in 1941. The person filing on behalf of Matthew was his brother, David Francis Roy. This is an interesting document, if for no other reason that David provides his own date of birth as well as Matthew's. Birth reg. 901696-41 Brantford, Brant Co. Matthew Carr Roy was born May 21, 1873, in Brantford Township. Parents Peter Roy, farmer, and Matilda Ann Fawcett, both resident in Brantford Twp. at the time of the birth. Physician Dr. Griffin. Informant David Francis Roy who states that he himself was born on Jany 19, 1857, and is 16 years Matthew's senior. The handwriting after that is difficult, but is apparently David's and he attests that he was in the house at the time of Matthew's birth. |
