| Note | For the following, refer Niagara Peninsula branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, publication # 3358. This is a transcription of St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Niagara-on-the-Lake. See pages 44 & 45. This is a transcription of a family plot wherein four daughters of Henry and Honora are buried. Also inscribed on a gravestone are the names and dates of death of Henry and Honora. Henry evidently died in Alberta; where Honora died is not mentioned. A death registration for neither has been found. Henry may be buried in Alberta, but this is hardly a certainty, for there are obvious records of those who have died in Western Canada and their remains then returned by train to Ontario. It may be that Henry and Honora are simply commemorated on this gravestone. The gravestone reads: In memory of Henry M. Sheppard who died at Rio Grande, Alberta, May 13, 1919, in his 72nd year. Hanora his wife died April 3, 1926, aged 73 years. |
