Date of return March 31, 1874. As with David's sister Zobeda, there is a conflict between David's death registration and the inscription for David placed on the gravestone in Sheffield Cemetery. Death reg. 017480-77 Beverly Twp., Wentworth Co. David Henry Hall died June 23, 1877, age 3 yrs., 3 mos., 7 dys. Son of L. & M.J. Hall. Methodist. Born Beverly. Cause of death fits 22 hours. Physician Dr. Smith. Informant Lines Hall, laborer, Beverly. Reported June 29, 1877. Given that the above death registration was filed by David's father within a week, we must accept that the date of death will at least be approximately correct. Ditto his birth registration, for his date of birth on his birth registration agrees with his age as provided on his death registration. The gravestone in Sheffield Cemetery shows David's dates as follows: David W. H. Hall born March 6, 1874 died Febr. 6, 1877 It is reasonable that the two records plus the gravestone refer to the same child. |
