| Note | Birth reg. 033037-78 Willoughby Twp., Welland Co. Winifred Grace born Oct 3, 1878. Parents Elgin Misener, farmer, and Kate Reilly. Physician Dr. Robert Aberdeen (surname spelling uncertain). Informant Elgin Misener, Center Willoughby. The township clerk appears to have written in the area of Willoughby wherein a family resided. East, center, etc., when there was not an actual village involved. This is a little unusual. The handwriting for 'center' is uncertain, but, in context, seems to be what was intended. City of Niagara Falls cemeteries shows an interment date for Grace Misener of July 29, 1959. The Niagara branch of the OGS index for Morse Funeral Homes shows a date of July 26. In earlier years, this was usually a funeral date; in later years it becomes evident that it was a death date and, considering the city's information for the interment date, the 26th as the death date is reasonable. At the time of the 1935 Voter's List, Grace is with her mother and brother in Niagara Falls. She is shown as a teacher and voter's lists from later years indicate that this was her career. No evidence has been found to show that Grace or brother Ray married. |
